    Who hasn't dreamt of climbing Mount Everest. As children we read in textbooks of Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay and imagine ourselves on the difficult journey to the top of the world with these brave and intrepid explorers. This is your chance to climb on the same route as the heroes of the Mountaineering world did in 1953. We will go till the base camp of Everest which, standing at 17, 600 ft, is itself higher than most mountains in the world.

    This is a challenging 16 day trek. Starting at the  upper Phakding, the route follows the Dudh Kosi valley ( also known as the River of Milk ). We then pass through the Sherpa capital of Namche, a bustling bazaar that's a junction for trekkers, the local Sherpa and expeditions en route to the mighty Mt. Everest.

    Mount Everest, also known in Nepal as Sagarmāthā and in Tibet as Chomolungma, is the Earth's highest mountain. Climbing it has always been a human endeavour and its pursuit unites us as a people.Which is why we shall always remember the names of Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay.

  • Itinerary

    Day - I, Kathmandu

    You arrive at the Tribhuvan International Airport and transfer to the hotel. The day is free for you to tour Kathmandu. After a pre-tour briefing, you depart for the city tour visiting - Durbar Square, with its numerous temples and the old royal palace, and the Swayambunath Stupa. The evening will be at leisure to explore..

    Day - II, Lukla to Phakding

    Flight from Kathmandu to Lukla (Tenzing Hillary Airport). With a runway of barely 1700 cm located almost 3km high in the Himalayas is one of the most exciting Flights in the world.
    After leaving the airport,we follow the trail leading to the valley of the Dhudh kosi River.

    Day - III & IV, Phakdung to Namche Bazaar

    We climb along the trail that passes one side of a steep rocky gorge,with huge hanging beehives, cross a mountain stream, climb up through a fissure and descent bridges.Pass through the Sagarmaths National Park. Reach Namche Bazaar with a day for acclimatization.

    Day - V, Namche bazaar to Tengboche

    After leaving Namche, we head to the Tengboche Monastery. It is a tradition that every climbing expedition to Mt. Everest be blessed by the head Lama of this monastery.

    Day - VI and VII, Tyengboche to Dingboche

    A 6-7 hrs of trek brings us to Dingboche. A short climb up to Pangboche (3,985m). We tour the monastery, and set out again, crossing uptil the meadows of Tsuro Og (4135m) and on to Dingboche. Another day here with a trek to Chukkung or Nagarstsang peak for acclimatisation.

    Day - VIII, Dingboche to Lobuche

    Start with a gradual 2 hour walk. The trail leads to a row of memorial monuments of lost climbers and sherpas and then follows the western side of the valley to Lobuche. After four to five hours hiking we reach the small settlement of Lobuche which is situated at 4930 m

    Day - IX, Lobuche to Kala Pathar and back

    Kala Pathar offers the best view of the southern slope of Everest and the Khumbu serac. From here, in the autumn of 1951, Eric shipton and Edmund Hillary discovered the route that was followed the next year by swiss climbers, and was also adopted by the British and Commonwealth party in 1953.

    Begin by following the high valley, along an up and down trail marked by cairns till we reach the sandy plain of Gorak Shep (5185m). The Everest Expedition in 1953 established their based camp at this lake (lake camp) and here one can see number of monuments to climbers killed on Everest. In the last section of the day, climb up on large boulders as far as the broad summit (5545m).

    Day - X, GorakShep to EBC to Periche

    This will be a long day, so wake up early, in all probability the water will be frozen in washrooms. Trek to the base camp is generally flat with many glaciers enroute. From Gorak Shep it takes about 2 hours to reach the EBC.

    We also see the magnificent Khumbu glaciers. Return to the Hotel and then started the descent to Periche (about 5 hours)

    Day - XI, Trek to Namche

     A 5 hr Trek directly from Pheriche to Namche Bazaar (3440 m). Since you have already travelled on this trail, with body and mind accustomed to what is expected.

    Day - XII, Trek to Lukla

    This is 6 hours trek with a strenuous descent from Namche Bazaar to the Dud Kosi, after which the path climbs up to Monjo and then runs through Benkar and Phakding to Lukla.

    Day - XIII, Lukla to Kathmandu

    After breakfast we fly in about 40 minutes from Lukla to Kathmandu. Arrive at Tribhuvan Airport and transfer to hotel. Rest of the day is free to reorganise yourself for flight back home. Gala dinner in the evening.

    Day - XIV &XV, Reserve Days

     Day 14 & 15 is generally kept as reserved to meet any eventuality or delays due to bad weather or unforseen cirumstances. The days otherwise may be utilised for sightseeing or to explore the city

    Day - XVI, Back

    Transfer to Tribhuvan Airport.

  • Requirements

    This trek is meant for people above 14 years of age only. Prior trekking experience is not essential, but good physical fitness is mandatory. Additionally, persons suffering from injuries or recovering from injuries or operations are strictly prohibited from participating in this trip.

    What is included in the cost?

    Meals : All meals during the expedition. From day 2 to Day13. 
                 Kathmandu : Breakfast only

    Accommodation : KATHMANDU: A 3 star Hotel with breakfast.
                                   EBC Trek: Tea Houses or Lodges or Tents.

    Guide: An English speaking experienced trekking guide (The trekking guide will be provided in a ratio of 10 people per guide basis. Porters to carry personal baggage. 1 porter for every 2 persons.)

    Equipment: All trekking equipment such as tents (sharing on a 2/3 people per tent), crampons, sleeping bags, mattresses, cooking utensils and crockery, 

    Fees: This includes entrance fees at the monuments at all places as per the Programme

    Sagarmatha National Park entry fee.

    TIMS (Trekking Information Management System) fee

    First aid: A first aid medical kit, stretcher and oxygen cylinder

    Transport: Meeting and assistance on arrival/departure by representative.
    SUV or Coach for arrival and departure transfers, sightseeing, and excursions as per itinerary
    Transfer of baggage in the same transport or separately depending on the size of group
    Kathmandu – Lukla – Kathmandu

    What is excluded from the cost?

    Personal expenses like laundry, communication, shopping and meals in Katmandu except welcome dinner and celebration party.

  • Booking and cancellation

    Trek size: A minimum number of bookings is set for scheduled group tours and if there are insufficient members or if we have to cancel your trip for any other reason a full refund will be given. If we cancel your tour we will advise you at least four weeks prior to the departure date

    Price: Though the price is fixed. The operator reserves the right to increase the price to cover fuel costs, taxes or exchange rate changes.

    Insurance: All trekkers or participants are responsible for arranging their own insurance which must cover medical expenses, injury, death, rescue, helicopter rescue (if appropriate), repatriation, cancellation and curtailment. Customers must provide the operator with evidence of their insurance. We recommend you take out insurance at the time of booking and double check the small print to ensure it covers all activities you are involved in.

    Personal Items: Personal items and baggage remain at all times the responsibility of the customer. In addition responsibility must be accepted for any equipment loaned to you, and you must agree to pay for any loss or damage caused to this equipment while in your care.

    Immigration & Visa:
    You are responsible for arranging your passport, and any necessary visas and vaccination certificates. Please check with the relevant embassy for the latest requirements with regard to visas and vaccinations.

    Cancellation policy: if a customer books places in the trek and cancels later, the following charges will be applicable depending on when the cancellation is done.

  • 30 days or more before departure - no charges
  • 30 to 15 days before departure - 10% of invoice
  • 14 to 7 days before departure - 25% of invoice
  • 7 to 3 days before departure - 50% of invoice
  • 2 days or less before departure - 100% of invoice
