    An extremely popular destination for WhiteWater Rafting, the Bhagirathi is a turbulent river . You encounter myriad rapids of varying grades on this stretch, making it an adrenalin fuelled rafting experience. The chilling waters of the Ganges are waiting!

  • Story

    The Bhagirathi river flows in the state of Uttarakhand, India and is one of the two headstreams of the Ganga. Having its source in the Gaumukh glacier, it is considered to be the source of the Ganges in Hindu Mythology.

  • Itinerary

    Day - I

    Report to Base camp at Ganga Banks at Shivpuri & then drive to Chamba. Overnight at GMVN Chamba

    Day - II

    Drive of about 1 hr to raft below the Tehri bridge. Fairly soon you will be negotiating a series of Grade III rapids. Stay alert to the commands of the river guide as the river careens from one rock wall to the other. This is the first gorge section. The valley opens up after this , you pitch camp after covering an approximate distance of 25 river kms. Overnight camp

    Day - III

    A shorter river stretch to make camp early and do a short hike through the surrounding area.Pick up some of the local culture & colour. Relaxed evening in the camp to prepare for the challenges of the river tomorrow. Overnight camp

    Day - IV

    Continue down the river negotiating more Grade III rapids, the valley is still fairly wide. After a short lunch break, back on the river as it narrows into the second gorge section-continuous Grade III & IV rapids climaxing in a small waterfall Grade IV+, at the end of the gorge. After this the river joins with the Alaknanda at Devprayag to form the Ganga. Camp a little below the confluence. Overnight camp.

    Day - V

    A relaxed day with few rapids. Lots of swimming & body surfing. A well earned break.Distance covered is about 25 kms. Rafts are parked & you drive 18 kms. Downstream to the Camp for the night. Overnight Camp.

    Day - VI

    After breakfast drive up-river to the rafts to start your run.Negotiate Daniel's Dip(Grade III+) to start the day go on down through the Wall (Grade IV) , Three blind mice, Crossfire & finally the Body Surfing rapid which surfs you right into camp for a late lunch. After lunch some kayaking, rapelling, swimming, beach volleyball, Frisbee or just lazing around. Campfire dinner & drinks. Overnight camp

    Day - VII

    White water at it's very best. Grade III & IV challengers like Roller coaster & Golf course. Trip ends at Rishikesh.

    Meals : All meals during the expedition

    People : English speaking Expedition Guide. Cook & Cook Helper.

    Gear: Tents - Sharing on a 2/3 people per tent Mules or Porters for luggage. Includes climbing gear : Alpine Shape Tents or Rest House with Sleeping Bags and Mattress Kitchen tent & crockery

    Fees: This includes all park entrance fees and trekking permits
